The 8 Best Gun Holsters and Accessories for the Sig P226

Sig Sauer P226There is some awesome gear available for the Sig P226.

As any gun owner knows well, buying the gun itself is just half the battle. The other half is buying the holsters and accessories for the P226.

The Sig Sauer P226 is a great gun, whether you have the .22, 9mm, .357, or .40 caliber version. The Sig P226 is very similar to the Sig P220, but with the availability of having
higher capacity magazines.

The Sig 226 was designed for service pistol demonstrations for the U.S. Army in 1984. The only 2 firearms to successfully complete the trials were the Beretta 92 and the Sig Sauer P226.

Due mainly to a lower price point, the Beretta ended up being awarded the contract. The 226 is a great firearm though, if not better than the Beretta, as the P226 is the sidearm of choice for the U.S. Navy Seals.

Whether you buy the elite version, combat version, or tactical version, you will need accessories to complement the greatness of this gun.

Holsters for the P226

As with any gun, we would recommend buying a good holster for it as soon as you can after you buy the gun. The gun holster, whether outside the waistband or inside the waistband will make it easy to both carry and draw. There are many holsters available for this gun, but we have highlighted 2 good ones below.

Sig P226 MagazineP226 Magazines

If you spent the money to buy a Sig, you may as well get a good, reliable magazine for it.

ProMag generally makes some of the best gun magazines, and they are almost always more affordable than the magazines the gun manufacturers make.

It’s our philosophy that the more bullets your mag can hold, the better, but this may not be true if the gun is for conceal carry. You definitely don’t want a mag as long as your arm if you’re gun is in an IWB holster.

However, the good news is there are many different magazines available for the gun, especially if it is 9mm. There are 32 round mags, 20 round mags, 12 round mags, and the standard 10 round mags available for purchase. Whatever size magazine you prefer, it’s always nice to have choices.

ProMag Mag 9mm 32Rd Blue P226 Sig-A64. ProMag Mag 9mm 32Rd Blue P226 Sig-A6

  • Advantages: 32 rounds is nothing to shake a stick at. Great magazine for the range, or for home defense. In a self defense situation, running out of bullets would not be a good deal. It’s safe to say that in general, you shouldn’t have an ammunition problem when you’re toting mags that carry 32 rounds.
